Good morning commissioners:

As you are all aware yesterday the NWAC Executive Board met do decide on the next steps for the NWAC as we close fall quarter and look towards 2021.  Yesterday's meeting was quite lengthy with much discussion and frank conversation.  In light of the meeting and the decisions made, the weekly newsletter will be replaced with the following:

Attached are four documents:

Attachment #1  NWAC Health and Safety Polices for Return to Play Manual

*         This was approved yesterday by the EB and will be sent to state health agencies for their review

*         It is a dynamic document that will be updated accordingly.

*         Please read and feel free to share the document with appropriate personnel, etc.

*         This is the standard guideline for NWAC member colleges.

Attachment #2  AC Health and Safety Polices for Return to Play Manual One Page Information Sheet

*         Please review this document as there are only a handful but imperative points.

Attachment #3  Executive Summary Sheet for Member College Presidents

*         This is a summary of the NWAC Health and Safety Polices Manual for your presidents.

*         Dr. Robins and Dr. Scott will send this directly to your presidents. I will send directly to the president's at Douglas College and North Idaho College.

*         I believe it is important that you have the executive summary as well so you are prepared in case your president wants to talk with you.

Attachment #4  NWAC Executive Board Decision on 2021 winter and sports.

*         As stated earlier there were robust conversations with multiple views, concerns, and ideas expressed.

*         Please review the document and feel free to share with those you deem appropriate.

*         We will release the information to the public on Saturday.

*         Later next week our office will look to set up a zoom meeting to provide Q and A opportunities.

It does not fall lightly on the Executive Board the weight of yesterday's decisions.  The EB and all of us are aware of concerning issues and the support and legitimacy of each one to each of you, student-athletes, presidents, staff members, parents, and the list goes on.   The EB was thorough, thoughtful, and deliberate in their work.

Thanks to the Executive Board for their hard work and commitment and to all of you for your work as well.  Time waits for no one and as John Wooden said, "Nobody is defeated until he starts blaming somebody else."
