[GuidedPathways] coding & tracking students in program of study

Hi Jesse.
Many years ago, a previous registrar had developed a bunch of EPC's that
are for transfer degrees. Sociology vs Math Vs Biology Vs Physical
Education, etc etc. Of course, we have the state issued EPCs for the Prof
Tech and other assigned programs.
When a student applies for admissions, we code both SM2001 and SM700A with
that EPC. We've mapped those EPCS to our Guided Pathways, and have created
homegrown "G" codes (one for each pathway). That G code goes into SM5003 as
an unusual action. That way, we can pull by Pathway, as well as be able to
know who has told us what program of study they are interested in
following.
It's important to note - we don't use these EPCs for transfer degrees when
awarding degrees. We only award one Direct Transfer.
Hope that helps.
