[ctcLinkfinaidsupport] Follow Up to 8/23/22 JIT Awarding Refresher Session

Good afternoon,

Thank you to all who participated in today's Awarding Refresher Just in Time Training Session.

As promised, here are the following attachments:

*Note on the SCC review guide, this SCC guide is more of a resource for you to build you own local business processes going forward.  Please be advised, what has been defined in this guide from SCC, may not fully apply to your institution. Since file review is such a locally-defined process, SBCTC does not have a file review guide in place.  The SCC file review document provides a good foundation from which to build upon/develop your own locally-defined business processes.

Please also be advised, the SCC File Processing in ctcLink 22-23 guide discusses Auto-Verification.  SBCTC does not currently support Auto-Verification and has never recommended to use it.  SCC is the only college in our ctcLink system that uses it.  At the time SCC implemented Auto Verification, there were bugs discovered over the years.  Therefore SBCTC does not recommend to use Auto-Verification and does not currently support it at this time.

The session recording and the updated slide deck have been posted to the Canvas course CS: FA102 FA Awarding and SAP.  You can find the recording under the "Additional Resources" module, in the Just in Time Training Session Recordings/Slide Decks  page.  You can also link directly to that canvas page by selecting this link<https://sbctc.instructure.com/courses/1664988/pages/just-in-time-training-session-recordings-slash-slide-decks?module_item_id=66741827>, which will direct you to the Just In Time Training Recordings/Slide Decks page in the CS: FA102 FA Awarding and SAP Canvas course.

In the Canvas Course, you can explore topics and/or refresh your memory with previously recorded Fin Aid Training Recordings.  If you have not registered for the course, you will receive an 'access denied' message. You can register for the course(s) at the ctcLink Training Registration page<https://www.sbctc.edu/colleges-staff/it-support/ctclink/ctclink-training-registration.aspx>, but you will need to progress through the entire training course before you are able to access the recording in the Additional Resources module.

Additionally, the Fin Aid Drop in Q&A Support Session follow up today's session is linked here<https://www.sbctc.edu/calendar.aspx?trumbaEmbed=filterview%3DFINAidTraining> in the SBCTC calendar.
