[BLC] Message about the BLC's friend and colleague, Char Gore

Boy this hits hard.  As everyone has said Char was instrumental in the development of the BLC.  She really did hold us all to a higher standard and asked the hard questions, always with a student success lens.   I will miss her and I hope that we can do something to honor her and all the hard work she put in to our community college system.

Dear Colleagues

It is with deep sadness that I share that Char Gore, TCC's Executive Director of Strategic Initiatives passed away this weekend after a 3-year battle with pancreatic cancer.


Char served on the BLC executive for several years and was instrumental in the recent changes to the General Education requirements for BAS degrees.



She was a strong advocate for students and worked tirelessly to make BAS degrees more accessible.

Those of us who had the honor and pleasure of working with Char know that she brought her energy, positivity and leadership to everything she did.

Please keep Char's family in your thoughts.
