Good morning,

I am super excited to announce a new online job training course available to any job seeker who is interested in brushing up their soft skills and honing their job search techniques. Working with CareerWork$ national team, the BankWork$ team has created a new online class called "Work$ Ready" (flyer attached and curriculum breakdown attached). The curriculum focuses on general job readiness skills including 30-second commercials, resume writing, interviewing, communication skills, online applications, and soft skills needed to land a job. This class is being offered entirely online, using Zoom and Google Classroom, and is designed for any industry. The curriculum will also incorporate updated job search strategies during the pandemic crisis and we will also offer one-on-one career coaching with a career navigator.

The YWCA will begin offering this free, online, 3-week week class on May 4th and sessions will take place Monday-Thursday 10:00am-12:00pm. In order to participate and gain the full benefit of the course, a job seeker will need to commit to participating 4 days per week for 2 hours per day as well as have access to a computer, laptop tablet or smartphone and internet connectivity. If you don't have the latter, please let us know so we can discuss accommodations. We would love to make this class available to any YWCA client or community member who can benefit. Please help us get the word out! To sign up, people should call (253) 736-2301 or (206) 823-5753 to answer a few basic questions and then they will be enrolled in the course and our staff will contact them about next steps.
