Good afternoon everyone. I wanted to forward some info to the group, even though my main intention is to let people know about an upcoming event specifically in North King County (City of Shoreline). I only have info about King County, but there may be similar programs in other areas in the State which might be good to investigate.
The City of Shoreline is starting a Community Court program in January 2020 which will have a weekly Resource Room/Fair accessible to the anyone, not just participants of the court. Shoreline Community College plans to table there and I may actually co-locate there (along with the Outreach Coordinator) once a week in order to be better connected/knowledgeable about local community resources and perhaps build partnership or collaborate. For those in King County who may be interested in participating, there will be a provider info session next Tuesday, November 5th at 2:00 at Shoreline City Hall.
FYI there are already two other community courts operating in King County, one in Redmond and one in Burien. There are upwards of 30 - 40 community service providers at their Resource Fair a week (although some rotate and only come monthly), and it allows for "one-stop shopping" for anyone looking for local services/resources. I believe there may be similar programs in Thurston and Pierce counties, but I haven't done a ton of research outside my area. I think it's a great program and well worth investigating.  - L

Just a quick update. We have pushed out our launch to January 7th, we needed a little more time to get everything settled and scheduled.  I have adjusted the timeline a bit as a result, and have attached a new copy for you.
I would like your help on a couple of things, and that is recruiting volunteers and service providers!  I am attaching 2 more documents, one is a volunteer flier, and one is a flier to recruit service providers.  Please share these as you can.  The service provider flier invites them to a info session on Nov 5th, I would love to see as many folks there as possible and it's only 3 weeks away, so share with any good local service providers and have them contact me.
For recruiting volunteers, please be aware of the "requirements" of folks we need.  Since we need help with set up/take down, we have to have folks who can physically do that. We will also need folks who have the ability to work well with our court participants, who often have mental health or substance use challenges.
