Dear Washington State Superintendents, Principals, and educational leaders,

This is an exciting time for our graduating high school seniors! Now, however, a season filled with anticipation of what comes next is layered with uncertainty.

The attached letter from Jan Yoshiwara, the executive director of the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges (SBCTC), and Chris Reykdal, superintendent of the Office of Superintendent for Public Instruction (OSPI), acknowledges these seniors' hard work and congratulates them on their achievement. It also encourages them to continue pursuing their goals and welcomes them to their local community or technical college as an option to do so.

We would greatly appreciate your help sharing this letter with your members of the Class of 2020.

This letter is not intended to add to any high school's already heavy workload. To help distribute it, we suggest making the letter available by including it in some of your end of the year activities, such as:

*            Email to the graduating senior class.
*            Include in their diploma cover or graduation package.
*            Provide to graduating seniors when they pick up their cap and gown.
*            Provide when graduating seniors are cleaning out their lockers.
