“DataLink” is the new Golden Gate!

This communication is related to Golden Gate, which is currently being used by ctcLink colleges (Spokane and Tacoma) to access their near-real-time PeopleSoft production transactional data.

Golden Gate (soon to be dataLink) will be joining the ctcLink/PeopleSoft application in the Amazon cloud (AWS). During the month of February, the team will be performing a lift and shift of our existing Golden Gate databases into the Amazon cloud.  After the move, we will call it dataLink. (Golden Gate is the name of the Oracle software, so just as we rebranded PeopleSoft to ctcLink, the team wanted to take this opportunity to name the database environment once we made the move.)

During this time, users will not see any impact to their current Golden Gate databases.  We will be running dual systems to validate the replication until stabilized.  Once stabilized, we will communicate the exact date/time of the cut-over to the current Golden Gate listserv. The name of the email list serve will also change to dataLink once the move is complete. Current listserv subscribers will be on the new list.

How will this affect you?  If you are not a Golden Gate user, you will not be affected.  If you are a Golden Gate user, we will work with you to change the hostname and IP address of your connection to the new location at the appropriate time for cut-over.
