Hello Joe,

Recently, I have been informed other colleges have been contacted.  The colleges worked with their AAGs and have been advised there is no exemption in the Public Disclosure Act preventing the disclosure of the documents requested by the Michelle Davis.  I strongly recommend that every PDR of this nature is vetted through their local AAGs.  Sometimes these types of documents may need redacting.

You are welcome to share my guidance.

Have you heard of other colleges receiving this request?  And do you know if this is something we have to provide?  We are technically the author of the grant but the Dept of Ed is the awarder.  Plus it's a grant.  Not sure if that qualifies under the public records or not.

Our AG is out til next Wed so thought I'd check others as well..

I work for the Research and Business Development Center in Eastern Idaho. My team and I are doing research on federal grant funding and would like to request a complete copy of your school's most recent, funded proposal for the TRiO Student Support Services grant. These records will not be used to compile a commercial sales list. Please forward this information to relevant persons and/or departments in regards to this request.

We would like to receive this document in electronic form if possible. Please let me know if there are any forms that need to be filled out or fees attached to this request.

If access to the records I am requesting will take longer than five days, please contact me with information about when I might expect the copy of this proposal.
