Subject: Financial Aid Outreach: Train-the-trainer Invitation

As we look at ways to increase the number of Washingtonians, especially low income adults, going to college and completing financial aid applications, Jan Yoshiwara in October formed a Joint Higher Education Work Group. To help with this effort, The Washington Student Achievement Council will hold seven free train-the-trainer sessions in late January. We encourage our staff to attend one of these sessions. Once trained, our staff will train volunteers to work with low income families, informing them of opportunities to go to college with financial support and help them complete financial state and federal financial aid applications.

The attached invitation explains more about the purpose of these sessions and provides dates and locations. It will also be sent to chief student services officers and financial aid directors.
