We had this issue last week when our I.T. was updating the security certificates for Alma and Primo….  Wade knows more about what happened… not sure if it would be the same issue for you…

Check in Alma to see if for any reason the LDAP authentication profile is disabled. Alma Configuration - Discovery - User Authentication.

You can also check Alma Config - General - Integration Profile List to confirm the details there.

We are unable to log into Primo.  Primo search is working fine, but patrons cannot check their list of items checked out or renew them, etc. The URL is  https://sbctc-rtc.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/discovery/search?vid=01STATEWA_RENTON:RENTON_V2&sortby=rank

If we click on “Sign In” in the upper right hand corner,  and select the “Students, Staff, Faculty” link, we are taken to an RTC login page.  When we type in the correct credentials (this uses an RTC login site, and our RTC email and password are the authenticating information)  we should be taken back to the catalog, and our names should appear in the upper right hand corner of the screen.

Instead of that, we are taken back to the catalog – we don’t get an error message of any kind – but we are not logged in.  The upper right hand corner still says “Sign in”.

We have tried this with two logins and two different browsers,  so we are reasonably sure it is not a password or browser issue.

I’ve sent a request to our IT people to check into this, but it would help if we had some idea where to look.  (And if this is happening anywhere other than Renton Technical College.)

What I’ve looked at so far:

•         We know that authentication in general is working – we’ve been able to log into our databases from off campus, so it’s not a breakdown of the authentication system.

•         We are not getting any unusual messages in the “Scheduled Job Status” report.
