Hi Amy:


Yes, I'm discovering this, too. When I go into Alma, though, and look at the titles, they look like they are cataloged individually, but somehow the holdings got linked? When I look at the holdings for Volumes 5 and 6, for example, they show an option to Relink.  The other titles that show up in Primo, don't show that option when I click on the holdings.


This is the second or third time something like this has happened, and I would like to know:


  1.  How to untangle the mess.
  2.  How, exactly, things are getting linked that shouldn't be and
  3.  How to prevent this in the future.
  4.  How to keep my head from exploding when this occurs...

I was just responding to you with something along those lines ha ha!





Just adding to your mystery…



When I opened the Primo record for #2 and clicked on the subject heading for “Clarke, Roy 1930-“ it shows me results for 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.



The call number displaying for #4 indicates that it’s #2 so when I open #4 to check it out, it also shows me #1, #2, #3, and #4.  So it looks like maybe 1-4 are on a single record?

Just discovered that the other records somehow got linked in Primo to Volume 4:

How could that have happened, and how do we separate these out so that they all show individually again? All of the volumes appear individually in Alma...

So, I have a series of DVDs, some of which are not showing up in Primo. I've checked to make sure that the holdings and bib records are not suppressed. I've tried searching a number of ways, and they still don't show up. What else should I be looking for? They are Roy Clarke's Keeping Up Appearances. I have numbers 2, 5, 6, 7 and 8 showing up in Primo, and 1, 3 and 4 not showing up in Primo. I've looked at the MARC records to compare those that are and aren't showing up and nothing is obvious to me.
