[Wactclc-primo] Search Primo by location? - Hardcoded URLs

Yes, PENINSULA_ALMA is just the name of the source, and is included in the PNX of any title you have present in Alma. And is also searchable in Primo.

You can see that scope name in the title record details in Alma.

This applies to all Primo instances, not just Peninsula.

Of course, the source name varies with each Primo instance. But the idea is the same.

That's perfect, Wade - those links are exactly what I need. The PENINSULA_ALMA search is new to me (guess I missed the memo on that one :)), and will be a very useful tool. Thanks so much.

Nina,

The following links will work for what you need:

Display 1 location

https://wactc-peninsula-primo.hosted.exlibrisgroup.com/primo-explore/search?query=any,contains,PENINSULA_ALMA&tab=default_tab&search_scope=EVERYTHING&sortby=rank&vid=PENINSULA_V1&facet=local1,include,Display&lang=en_US&offset=0

Display 2 location

https://wactc-peninsula-primo.hosted.exlibrisgroup.com/primo-explore/search?query=any,contains,PENINSULA_ALMA&tab=default_tab&search_scope=EVERYTHING&vid=PENINSULA_V1&facet=local1,include,Display%202&lang=en_US&offset=0

I basically just did a search in Primo for PENINSULA_ALMA (which serves as a wildcard search for your local collection), and then clicked on one or the other of the location facets, and then copied the URL.

Subject: Search Primo by location?

Hi, Shellie and Wade,

I'm trying to set up some canned searches that our students can access, to show them what items we have on display, and what items are new. If students could click a link on our website and see these, it would be ideal.

But...I don't know how to set up a search by holding location in Primo. Is it possible? We used to be able to do it in Voyager in the OPAC, but I'm still looking in Primo.

Here are the searches I mean, created in Alma. But those won't work for our students, because they can't sign in to Alma.

* Search for items on display (currently poetry): https://sbctc-pencol.alma.exlibrisgroup.com/rep/action/pageAction.search.advanced_search.xml.do?pageViewMode=Edit&xmlFileName=search.advanced_search.xml
* Search for items on 2nd display (currently Native Lives): https://sbctc-pencol.alma.exlibrisgroup.com/rep/action/pageAction.search.advanced_search.xml.do?pageViewMode=Edit&xmlFileName=search.advanced_search.xml

* Search for new materials: (will change depending on what we consider "new", and what material categories we wish to include.) Here's an example, for materials added after June 1, 2017, with a permanent location of General Collection. https://sbctc-pencol.alma.exlibrisgroup.com/rep/action/pageAction.search.advanced_search.xml.do?pageViewMode=Edit&xmlFileName=search.advanced_search.xml

What do you think...can Primo's search capabilities duplicate these? Do you know how?
Thanks,

Nina
