Shoreline Community College is dedicated to inclusive excellence in

The Learning Resources division is comprised of eLearning, faculty
professional development, The Ray Howard Library, and the Student Learning
Center. The division supports and acts as a resource for all academic areas
of the College. Reporting to the Associate Dean of Library and Learning
Resources, this position will develop and deliver a year-long New Faculty
Institute & Resources program in support of incoming faculty cohorts, as
well as assist College faculty in designing equitable and multimodal
courses.
In addition to the New Faculty Institute & Resources program, this position
will also collaborate with campus partners to develop and coordinate
ongoing quarterly professional development opportunities for full and
part-faculty; participate in planning/support for Opening Week and Day of
learning annual events, and support the part-time faculty professional
development funding process.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Experience with teaching, and with developing coursework online in a
higher education environment
- Experience with the scholarship of teaching and learning, and/or
learning outcomes assessment
KNOWLEDGE OF:
- Diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) within teaching, student
support, and curriculum development
- Emerging educational technologies
- Best practices/techniques for teaching faculty, including faculty
within learning communities
SKILL IN:
- Fostering a climate of equity and belonging through multicultural
awareness and responsiveness
- Imparting excitement and enthusiasm into the training of faculty
colleagues
- Effective oral/written communication with individuals at all levels
inside and outside the College
- Adapting to a variety of instructional situations with those from
diverse backgrounds/abilities
- Developing/modifying curriculum both collaboratively and independently
- Training, evaluation and implementation of innovative and equitable
models of online/hybrid learning
- Working and interacting effectively with colleagues, staff, students,
administrators and others of various cultural and socio-economic
backgrounds.
- Applying professional development theories in conjunction with
administrative policies/processes
