[LIBRARYDIR] 2018-19 IPEDS Survey Update - Libraries

Related to IPEDS...

For those libraries on Alma, an IPEDS WACTCLC analytics dashboard exists at:

\Shared Folders\Community\Reports\Consortia\WACTCLC\IPEDS WACTCLC (DO NOT MOVE OR MODIFY !!!!!!!!)

In that folder, if you open the IPEDS dashboard, you'll get a multi-tabbed dashboard that includes:

Physical Titles counts
Physical Volumes counts
Add and Delete counts
Expenditures
Electronic Collections
Electronic Usage (requires the configuration of SUSHI / COUNTER in Alma for data to appear)
Circulation
Age of Collection (Dewey)
Age of Collection (LC)

The 'counts' tabs are point-in-time counts, relative to the last time analytics data was refreshed (which generally happens daily)

Other tabs can be scoped by fiscal year or date ranges, as appropriate to the data.

I haven't reviewed the IPEDS updates documentation that Greg circulated yet, but I can reflect any changes in the IPEDS questionnaire in the dashboard.

Hi Greg,

Passing on an update to next year's IPEDS survey for libraries. Several changes are being proposed from the last survey that includes some sections being removed, reworded or clarified: https://surveys.nces.ed.gov/ipeds/ViewIPEDSChangesToTheCurrentYear.aspx. Attached is last year's survey as a reference.

Just an FYI for now, no action required at the moment. IPEDS is being confusing since they say these changes are "proposed", but at the same time suggesting these are official/final. I'm guessing these will be the final changes moving forward, but the library survey opens in December so we have a lot of time to prepare.
