Seattle Central's various tutoring services are distributed across several divisions and offered at various locations, including a general learning center and e-tutoring.

The library provides space for the Writing Center three afternoons a week in our general purpose classroom, but we do not manage the service, which is coordinated through the Humanities and Social Sciences Division. Funds for writing tutors come from S&A funds. It has been good collaboration that brings students into the library, and we hope to further integrate services to ensure that tutors refer students to librarians for research needs.

Collectively, the tutoring services form the Learning Support Network that works to coordinate offerings.

Subject: [LIBRARYDIR] Tutoring Centers, Writing Centers, Math Labs, Speech Labs

Good morning all,

I've been asked to look at how Skagit manages its various tutoring resources. I was wondering how many of the library administrators have some kind of tutoring activity in their facility and/or have some responsibility for these activities. These could include any type of tutoring support in any form, even online or outside the library. Do any of you claim to house a "learning commons"?

Thanks,
Mindy
