[LIBRARYDIR] Tutoring Centers, Writing Centers, Math Labs, Speech Labs

At Clark College Student tutoring reports to me through the Assoc. Director of Student Tutoring Services. There are 5 centers<http://www.clark.edu/campus-life/student-support/tutoring/index.php> and we offer eTutoring. We've had tutoring activities happen off and on in the library but it was not very successful. We'd love to have enough space to house a one-stop tutoring center in close proximity or inside a renovated library.

There's really good coordination between our groups. The iCommons Access Services Specialist at the satellite campus (Columbia Tech Center) serves as a liaison. PT tutors may report absences or emergency schedule changes to her so that she can communicate this information throughout the building. This is very helpful because the tutoring program manager is located at main campus, 13 miles away.

Regards,
Michelle

Here at Olympic College, Tutoring Services reports to me. They have spaces all over campus but not in the Library. Tutors can reserve our group study rooms but don't do this very often. We would like to have a learning commons, but there isn't room in the existing Library building. We have also proposed the idea of a one-stop tutoring center that would be outside the Library, but it will be challenging to find the space.

Thanks,
Erica

Good morning all,

I've been asked to look at how Skagit manages its various tutoring resources. I was wondering how many of the library administrators have some kind of tutoring activity in their facility and/or have some responsibility for these activities. These could include any type of tutoring support in any form, even online or outside the library. Do any of you claim to house a "learning commons"?

Thanks,
Mindy
