[LIBRARYDIR] RE: Library Director or Acting Director

I am the Library Director and my direct supervisor is the VP of Instruction.

The person in my position formerly was a dean, and was a faculty member before serving as dean.



I believe the decision to make my position a "directorship" rather than a "deanship," when they hired me a year and a half ago, was budgetary.

I continue to advocate for having my position be returned to its former status.

Additionally, any information on the process or decision making that led to the type of leadership your library has chosen would be helpful (for example: accreditation requirements, funding issues, reorganizations of departments, etc.) Lastly, if you have someone working in the administrative function but under a special contract or stipend, any information on the amount of the stipend, how that amount was calculated or decided, etc. I realize this some of the information might be a bit sensitive so feel free to email me directly/off-list at Cheyenne.roduin at lwtech.edu<mailto:Cheyenne.roduin at lwtech.edu>.

As we work on possible reorganization structures in the absence of our Library Director, any information would be helpful for our deans in their decision making process.
