[FYE-CSS] Introducing myself and 2nd FYE/CS Community of Practice this Friday!

HI there! I am so excited to see so many new folx joining our community of FYE/CS practitioners across the state.  I thought I'd take moment to introduce myself, invite you all to introduce yourselves as comfortable, and remind y'all about the 2nd informal, drop-in-as-you-can Community of Practice gathering this Friday (details at end.)


I am Lizz Zitron, one of the co-admins of this listserv along with the amazing Stephanie Schlitz from Shoreline. We started this listserv out of our shared passion for FYE/CS work with a desire to connect those of us doing this work. So many of us face the same challenges and share the same passion, so we wanted a space for us to connect, learn, and inspire. Glad you are here!


I work at Pierce College and began my position in Sept 2019. Which means I've done most of my work during stay at home! Previously I was an academic librarian. And before that, well give me a year and I'll tell you what job I was doing and where I was living (zoo educator, back up dancer, cookbook publicist, 2nd grade teacher!) I love working at a community college, love what our work can offer students, and am grateful for everything our students offer us. I'm a single mom to a six year old boy who famously ran naked around our neighborhood last November while I was in a Zoom meeting. Luckily, I have GREAT neighbors!
