The representation of Faculty of color in higher education is known to enrich college environments significantly. Faculty of Color are vital to the statewide student-centered mission of creating learning environments where students thrive and succeed. Research shows that Faculty of color members and the many layers of the intersectionality of their identity often encounter challenges to their professional success and well-being. The Faculty of Color Mentoring Program facilitates a collaborative learning and supportive opportunity in which Faculty can discover professional success strategies. Faculty participate in a community of learners that will enable them to network, support, and learn from one another. Group mentoring will support maintaining a functional work-life balance, faculty retention, and combat hidden layers of taxation that often Faculty of color encounter.
