Good Morning DEO's,

As we bring 2022 to a close I want to thank each of you for your hard work and dedication to promoting and driving DEI/EDI centered practices and initiatives at your respective institutions and in shared spaces with other State Agencies. I cannot overstate the importance of your roles in our SBCTC system and the tremendous impact you/we are having. Your leadership in invaluable and we cannot under any circumstance let up or fall back into old behavioral practices that limit access to opportunity or advancement for students, staff and faculty from Historically Underrepresented and Systemically Non-Dominant (Dr. Debi Jenkins) Communities.

I thank you for a great year of sacrifice and service to our community. We are a resource for each other in this work and I'm honored to learn and grow in my leadership with you all. We have a very challenging year ahead of us and some significant deliverables within SB 5227 and SB5194. Let's bring our best practices together in 2023 to ensure our collective success. Your DEO Executive Leadership is committed to being a resource for you and we pledge to continue to advocate  for you, your roles, and independent voices among and within Executive Leadership at your respective campuses. I want you  to know that We See You.

Rest up over this winter break, enjoy your families and know that whatever is left undone on your desks, will be there when you return. Disconnect and unplug as best you can, that is my charge to you all.
