Dear colleagues,

The FY24 Hospital Employee Education & Training program application has been released today, 2/16/2023, in the Online Grant Management System<https://ogms.sbctc.edu/> (OGMS). Please see your campus OGMS security contact for access to the FY24 application. Your OGMS security contact<https://ogms.sbctc.edu/SecurityContacts.aspx> must give you access to each grant application, each year. When you log into OGMS, be sure to navigate to the FY24 screen to find the correct application.

Online Q & A Sessions

There are no significant changes to the application this year so there will not be a webinar, but we will host two Q & A sessions via Zoom with SBCTC & SEIU Healthcare 1199NW Multi-Employer Training Fund staff to answer questions about the application. Links for the Q & A sessions are below. If you have questions but are unable to attend either of these options, please reach out to schedule a time with SBCTC staff.<mailto:mharper at sbctc.edu>

What are Hospital Employee Education and Training Program Funds?

A total of $1,997,232 is available for FY24 HEET projects. A multi-stakeholder committee will review proposals and make funding recommendations. Funding will not exceed $250,000 per proposal. A project that includes more than one community or technical college and more than one employer partner (in addition to one labor-management partnership) may apply for funding in excess of $250,000.

HEET funding is designated for development or expansion of innovative training programs in partnership with labor and employers that support incumbent healthcare workers to advance their careers in the healthcare field while meeting the rapidly changing workforce needs of our healthcare system. Projects must address one or more of the following:

  * Enhanced accessibility and academic progression for hospital and outpatient healthcare workers through college healthcare pre-requisite courses and certificate/degree programs
  * Address an industry shortage or other pressing workforce need in the healthcare industry
  * Lead to increased capacity of the college system in nursing and other high demand healthcare fields
  * Bring greater diversity to the health care workforce
  * Build a stronger labor/management/education healthcare partnership in order to leverage public and private investment

Together, projects funded in this cycle must lead to the creation of 50 annualized state funded FTES.
