[BFET] [UCE] BFET Grant Updates From the Spring_Summer Funding Survey

Hello BFET Team!

Attached is the updated grant amounts from the Spring/Summer Funding Survey. Thank you to all who responded promptly. Request to return funds are voluntary and redistributed to best help meet system needs.

We received enough in Participant Reimbursement returns to fund all requests for Participant Reimbursements. There was a combined request for over $700,000 in General and Tuition. Much more than we received in returns. To help meet some of the needs we are seeing, we have received approval from DSHS BFET Policy to move the remaining $78,850 in returned Participant Reimbursement funds to General and Tuition. With that transition of funds we were able to redistribute a $312,880 to the system.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
We will increase your grant total in OBIS in the next day or two.  After we do that, your college will receive a revised award letter asking you to submit your budget revision.

You will notice from the attached document that we put General and Tuition funding increases into Tuition only. You do not have to budget these funds placed into Tuition in just the Tuition budget cells. For this one time, you are free to move some or all of this increase out of Tuition and into any cell of the General line of your budget to best meet your program needs. This is a one-time allowance that will not be allowed later in the year due to contractual restrictions in the SBCTC/DSHS contract.

You will also notice that we put Participant Reimbursement increases into Books only. You do not have to budget these funds to Books only. You are free to move some of all of this increase out of Books and into other Participant Reimbursement categories to best meet your program needs. You can always move funds between cells on in the same activity (or horizontal budget line). This is not a one-time allowance and can be done now or at any time within the grant year.

Please submit your budget revision request no later than June 15, 2020.

Do not forget that OBIS will not allow you have an invoice and a budget revision in process at the same time. Our next invoice is due June 10, 2020. If you need to do a budget revision so you have the ability to bill, you will need to do your budget revision first.
