Good Afternoon BFET Team!

Navigating the Grant Application
We have worked hard to streamline the BFET grant application and align it with the DSHS BFET Budget Workbook. Here are some import items to keep in mind as you complete your grant application:

· Be sure to read all instructions and requirements prior to starting your application

· Use your FINAL version of the FFY21 BFET DSHS Budget Workbook, SBCTC BFET Fiscal and Grant Guidelines for reference throughout your application

· In your OGMS grant application, you must use the exact budget numbers that you see in the attached document (also available in the Grant Info section of OGMS). These are based on the numbers submitted to SBCTC in your final DSHS budget workbook. However, you may notice your BFET planning numbers are $1 more or less. This is due to rounding. Budget numbers reflect the 50% amount reimbursable by FNS (this is the maximum amount you can bill up to)

·       Narrative should reflect 100% of local non-federal expenditures and;

o identify where applicable, the total cost per student and number of students anticipated to be served and non-federal sources you will be leveraging (this is the same information and numbers you indicated in your BFET Budget Workbook)

o identify salaries and benefits by FTE, percentage or dollar amounts (example .2 FTE, 20%, or $8,000) for each staff being paid in whole, part or leveraged by BFET, additionally make sure that each staff’s duties are represented

§ Positions included must provide services unique to BFET participants and may not include services offered to the general student population at no cost

· You must upload the following items with your grant application:

o   BFET Grant Assurances

o   Data Security Agreement

o Any BFET Program Alternate Form (if using for FFY21) – forms must be submitted regardless of prior years’ approvals. If you do not submit any form(s) it will be assumed that you are NOT using an alternate form for FFY21

o Federally Approved Indirect Letter (this must be uploaded if you intend to bill for more than the allowable 5%)

o   BFET Matrix
