[Wsssc] FA Office Poll, Financial Aid System Updates, and FAC Support Requests

Your active participation is crucial as we navigate through important discussions and preparations for the upcoming FAFSA simplification change management process. Below includes a link to a poll<https://forms.gle/riaYQkjhsBH1d6ym7>, and an overview of two Financial Aid resources from your FAC liaison.



As part of our collaborative efforts to enhance support during the upcoming FAFSA simplification change management process, we are conducting a brief poll<https://forms.gle/riaYQkjhsBH1d6ym7> to gather information about potential hours of closure for financial aid offices across our system. Recognizing the asset of working and learning as a system, this follows an idea that has recently been put forth for FAC to have a common meeting space, similar to WSSSC's optional hot topic sessions, to leverage the council's community of knowledge for the simplification launch in late December and beyond. We ask that you please take a moment to provide your colleges details about scheduled closures for training within your financial aid office. Your input will help us identify a common time for FAC directors to meet, share knowledge, and offer support. This will also be helpful when SBCTC provides trainings specific to the updates.



Additionally, please find attached two essential documents from FAC liaison Karl Smith. The first document outlines crucial Financial Aid System Updates, with a recommendation that VPSS review pages 3-4 with staff that clearly outline anticipated changes and responsibilities. The second document, FAC WSSSC Support Request, provides a detailed list of requested support from FAC members, including their recommendations for staff support, systems, and training.
