[Wsssc] 2023-24 State Support Letter

Dear WSSSC,



The purpose of the attached document is to inform colleges of the disclosure requirements listed in RCW 28B.15.0681 and to provide sample language they may use in their disclosure statement. The statute directs institutions of higher education to disclose the following information on "tuition billing statements" for resident undergraduate students:



  *   The full cost of instruction
  *   The amount collected from student tuition operating fees
  *   The difference between the full cost of instruction and student tuition.


Please use the attached document and circulate to your teams as appropriate.

Attached is the 2023-24 State Support and Student Cost letter for Washington State Community and Technical Colleges.  The letter provides college staff with information about the state/student support disclosure requirements, the 2023-24 per student FTE cost of instruction and a sample Educational Cost Statement.

The educational cost statement at the bottom of the attached letter is a sample narrative intended to meet the notification requirements for resident undergraduate students, as listed in RCW 28B.15.0681.   This paragraph is only a suggested statement and can be edited for use at your college if needed.

The letter will also be distributed to BAC, Registrars, Financial Aid and VP's of Student Services.
