Good Afternoon Colleagues,

As a follow-up to the June 4 stakeholder engagement forum hosted by OSPI and SBCTC, I'm writing to advise you that the draft Methods of Administration State Plan is now available for review and public comment. You may recall from the June 2 listserv message from our Systems Internal Auditor, Maryam Jacobs, or the June 4 forum that the DOE has rescinded previous guidelines on civil rights reviews and asked each state to submit a new plan for how it will ensure federal civil rights laws are followed in educational institutions receiving federal funds.

After weeks of stakeholder engagement and work with OSPI, we've completed a draft of the new Washington State MOA Plan, which has been made available for public comment. It is attached and posted online here<https://www.sbctc.edu/resources/documents/colleges-staff/programs-services/workforce-education/2017collaboration/moa-draft-plan-feedback.pdf>. If you have questions, concerns, suggestions, and/or corrections, please don't hesitate to contact me or Maryam Jacobs at mjacobs at sbctc.edu<mailto:mjacobs at sbctc.edu> by Thursday, June 25. We recognize that this is a quick turnaround, but it should be noted that two-thirds of the document's 91 pages are appendices. The plan narrative is just 31 pages and SBCTC's content is approximately half of that.

We would certainly appreciate your review and feedback, but we know, too, that everyone is stretched very thin these days and this work may not pertain directly to you. If there are others at your institution who would be interested, please feel free to pass this along.
