[Wactclc-alma] patron notification for auto-renewal?

I turned on auto renewals last week and it is functioning properly.  However, patrons do not receive a notice when an item has auto-renewed.  At first I thought I had missed a step (I  have the "Send Courtesy Notices and Handle Loan Renewals Job" activated, and auto renewals set to two days before due date).  But when I was looking at EL documentation it seems to say that a patron EITHER gets a courtesy notice if a loan is due in two days and can't be auto-renewed OR the loan is automatically renewed if it is eligible to be renewed within two days of the original due date.  Which makes it sound like if the loan is auto-renewed, the patron does NOT get a notice:

Guidelines for Courtesy Notice and/or Auto Renewal:
1. If automatic loan renewal can occur, performs automatic renewal
OR just sends courtesy notice based on Auto Loan Renewal Rules settings
2. If automatic loan renewal cannot occur, sends a courtesy notice
3. If automatic loan renewal is prevented by patron or item block, sends a courtesy notice

Can anyone confirm that patron notification upon auto-renewal is NOT a thing?
