We're already on Azure, and we migrated to hosted last summer. It went pretty well for us apart from multiple vendors not registering our new IP even after assuring me repeatedly that they had registered the new IP, but obviously that wasn't OCLC's fault.

I think I had heard about your situation a while back as the result of an AskWA chat one of our librarians fielded, but I couldn't remember if you were hosted or not. We may have more questions for you soon.

We switched from local hosting to hosted ezproxy in January of 2021.  We had already switched over to CTClink (Spring 2020 I think, it’s hard to remember…).  But we are on both CTC and hosted ezproxy today ??



When we switched we did change to Azure authentication, but I think that had more to do with technology making the change than either CTC or OCLC.  It does mean our students have a separate “WVC network id” and “CTC/canvas id”, which is confusing for everyone.



I’m happy to share anything about the process, the implementation team from OCLC was great, and our switch was much less expensive than Elena is quoting, but I’m sure that is b/c WVC is much smaller in FTEs.

I'm also interested in this conversation. We have been hosting EZProxy locally on a cloud server with a security certificate with no problems.



Suddenly, in November, EZProxy stopped working with our Gale databases. We updated to the latest version, updated our security certificate, updated the config stanza and have spent hours with technical support at both Gale and OCLC to no avail.



So, we are using the SSO workaround with Gale for now (which is a nightmare for users no matter how many directions for how to log in we post), and looking for the approximately $6,000 that it will take to migrate over to hosted EZProxy.
