[Wactclc-alma] SUSHI COUNTER Reports

Hi Wade,

I created a dashboard last week that includes several COUNTER reports that are used for the ACRL and IPEDS surveys. I have filters set up for specific months and year. Currently, I have to go into each report and edit the analysis. I am watching a webinar today on creating dashboards. I would like to be able to change the month and year for all reports simultaneously. I have saved the dashboard to the Bellingham Technical College folder in the WACTCLC consortia.

Thanks,
Traci

The usage files brought in by SUSHI are the same general format as the COUNTER reports you would download manually.

So, the data is going to be presented in monthly increments (# for January, # for February, etc), regardless of how many months come in at one time.

As you note, the COUNTER data delivered via SUSHI generally comes in 12 month chunks, representing the most recent 12 months for which the vendor has complete data is available. Again, the data is broken down by month.

For subsequent imports of a previously i(mported month, the data in analytics is overwritten and replaced, so no data is duplicated. This refreshing of past months is a good practice, because vendors sometimes issue usage corrections for previously released data. At least, they used to. I don’t know how often vendors go back and correct usage data now. They’ve probably gotten better at it over time.)

All this to say, Usage data in analytics is reportable by both month and year.

You might want to take a look at some of the out-of-the-box analytics reports and dashboards for Usage data, which you can find in Analytics:

Shared Folders / Alma /

                / Usage

                / Usage via COUNTER reports

/ Usage via COUNTER reports – Release 5

These reports and dashboards will give you some examples of how usage data is reportable.

I believe some of these are new with the recent release of updated dashboards.

You can look at the ‘last modified’ dates for the reports and dashboards to see which are newer.

Hello All,

I watched the Managing COUNTER-Compliant Usage Data <https://nam04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fyoutu.be%2FUZFgZpkwHOA&data=04%7C01%7C%7C1469ea2461da4c0e9c5108d9327140f0%7C02d8ff38d7114e31a9156cb5cff788df%7C0%7C1%7C637596284265684149%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000&sdata=weWmEr3Kld0kogqxv0gJKo0KdtHVtGSi7LKqbFcuSyc%3D&reserved=0> webinar recording yesterday. Yoel was saying that reports that are harvested from the vendor are for the past 12 months and you can't ask, for example, to not include April and May.

I was thinking about this, and I was wondering if the usage dates can be adjusted in Analytics. I would like to run reports quarterly for the academic year if needed. Has anyone run reports for data usage?

Wade - Is this something we can go over at one of our meetings?

Thanks,

Traci
