Something else that might be helpful…

If you’re not sure whether a collection has been activated in Alma, do an Electronic Collection keyword search.

If a collection appears on the “Institution” tab, the collection has been activated, or has been created locally. Either way, its titles will be available for search. (Most collections are represented in the CZ, or community zone. Occasionally, a collection may not be available for activation in Alma. But as long as good MARC records are available from the vendor, they can loaded into Alma locally.)

If a collection appears only on the “community” tab, BBCC does not subscribe to the collection. Or, if so, the collection has not been activated as available in Alma.

You can check with the staff there about the where’s / when’s / why’s of what’s been activated, why or why not, etc.

In Primo, if your institution has activated it, there is a journals search available in the top menu. (Doesn’t look like BBCC currently has the option activated. You should check with John, who I believe is currently maintaining Primo at BBCC.)

For example, if you look at the Green River Primo instance, you will see the link labeled as ‘Search Periodicals List’:

https://sbctc-greenriver.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/discovery/search?vid=01STATEWA_GREENRIV:GREENRIVER_V1&sortby=rank&lang=en

You can also just do a search for a journal title, and then use the faceting to filter down to journal resource type.

You can also do a similar journal titles search in Alma, by searching ‘electronic titles’, for example.

Note that search results through any of these paths are only as good as the electronic resource management happening at the institution. In other words, the collections need to be properly activated and maintained in Alma for content to be searchable.

I will begin with I am new to BBCC and the State of Washington.  This maybe in front of me and I do not see it.

I am looking for a library specific link that allows a search for Journal Titles that will find those titles, the holdings and links to databases that own them.  It may be called a Publication Finder…Publication Search.

I found an awkward unsatisfying way to do so from the One Search.

If this does exist, do I have to set it up ? Is there a link available to role?  I am ready for the story.
