[Wactclc-alma] Work orders

Aaaah…

The “processing department” shown on the Courses page is not related to work orders.

It’s something different, and currently is used for information purposes only.

Those processing departments for courses are configured under:

Fulfillment Configuration / Courses / Processing Departments

When you create a processing department for course reserves, it does show up under “Work Order Departments”

But, it isn’t really configurable there, because it doesn’t really offer any functionality at present, it only exists as informational at this point.

Something else must have been (or is) blocking your reserves checkouts.

Hi Wade:

I have a work order type already created and configured called AcqWorkOrder, but it doesn’t show up in the drop-down list when I want to add a new Department for Tech Processing Work Orders. Instead, the mystery COURSE Work Order Type code is the only thing that shows up in that drop down list.  Why is that and how do I fix it? Is that a Salesforce Issue?

Elena,

Looks like you have Work Order departments (DEFAULT MV RESERVES, WIC RESERVES) that reference a work order type (COURSE) that does not exist.

Maybe you or Justine created a work order type of COURSE at one time, but then deleted it.

You can create a work order type under the ‘work order type’ option in general configuration, and assign various statuses to it.

I’m not sure if that answers your question.

But maybe you could post a screenshot with what you are trying to change highlighted?

So, we’ve just discovered that creating Reserves is generating a work order on the first copy, and then the fact that a work order is attached to the item is not allowing the item to be checked out. We couldn’t figure out why this was happening, and then I went to our Work order department list and discovered that the Default for work orders has a Department Type of Course, and the name has changed from what ours originally was (Processing Department) to Default Course Reserves Processing Department. I don’t know how this happened, but now I can’t edit it to change the Department type because it says there are requests/courses still assigned to it. I need help figuring out how to delete those and unassign them.
