[Wactclc-alma] Possible to delete old Attachments via Alma job?

Laura and all,

Laura asked a good question about removing attachments from user records on a periodic basis.

The answer is that there isn't a way to remove attachments from user records in bulk at this time.

But, according to a thread in Alma-L (see attached), Ex Libris plans on adding this functionality, tentatively scheduled for the Alma May release.

So, pretty soon...

I imagine the option will allow you to configure some kind of "older than" value, so that you could automatically delete attachments older than 30 days, or whatever.

So, something to look forward to in late spring :)

Hi, Wade and Shellie -

I'm hoping you may know the answer to this.  I dipped briefly into Alma online help, but didn't find anything.

We have noticed that some of our patrons who check lots of Reserve books out are building up quite a list of attachments.  I'm told one has upwards of 60.

I know it is possible to delete individual attachments one at a time at the patron Attachment page.  Is there an automated job to delete attachments after a certain time?  One that we can trigger at the end of a quarter?  (And, by the way, is there something that we aren't considering that would make that a bad idea?)

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
