Just FYI, I went ahead and posted to Primo-L about Dale’s question about sorting by attached issues date, rather than generic publication date.

We’ll see what the hive mind says.

Subject: Sorting serials by holdings range?

The default Primo “sort by date” for search results uses the publication date in the bib record, which usually doesn’t reflect accurately the holdings attached to the record, for something like serial monographs.

Has anyone tried setting up a Primo sort on something like a summary holdings statement, so that search results could be sorted by something resembling the issue dates of attached holdings?
