[ctcLinkfinaidsupport] Another Recording Available & Parking Lot Q&As - State Aid Reconciliation Refresher Training 09/26/2023

Good afternoon again!

Thank you to all who participated in last week's training session for State Aid Reconciliation Refresher on Tuesday 09/26/2023.

Additionally, here are the answers to our parking lot questions we had in the session:


  1.  Cassandra Fry (Big Bend) - After census day, do those students that aren't enrolled for the quarter get cleared off this list [CTC_FA_CBS_SNG_NOT_AWARDED]

No, students will not drop off the CTC_FA_CBS_SNG_NOT_AWARDED query results until they are awarded a WCG, WCG waitlist or CBS item type in an offered status



  1.  Beth Hawes (Green River) - Why does this query [CTC_FA_CBS_SNG_NOT_AWARDED] pull students who have > 65% MFI?  CBS-eligible students should not have an MFI > 65%

CTC_FA_CBS_SNG_NOT_AWARDED identifies students who have WCG and CBS eligibility, have a processing status greater than applied, have enrollment in the prompted term and do not have a WCG, WCG waitlist or CBS item type in an offered status greater than zero. The query looks at the CBS eligibility page for Ok to Award =Y and WCG Eligible<> N to determine WCG and CBS eligibility, not MFI. A student can appear as eligible in the CBS Cruncher/Eligibility Checker despite not meeting the yearly MFI cut off.



  1.  Jessica Vigil (Yakima Valley) - Are there any proposed fixes for WASFA applicants and these manual work arounds, i.e., having to run the %NATIONAL_ID query to find ITINs for Interim?

We may need additional information on this question. WASFA students still appear in the WCG Interim file when the SSN field in bio demo is 'XXXXXXXXX'. In this case, the SSN column in the WCG Interim csv would appear as blank. Once the ITIN is added in bio demo, that number will pull into the Interim csv the next time it is generated. The NationalID query is an optional query that can be used to identify students that have X's for SSN and do not have an ITIN, that have a WCG eligible field of Y



  1.  Debra Dixon (Spokane CC) - With the new ability to upload incremental reports [to WSAC's Secure Portal], will there be a new query to pick up only changes?

While there currently aren't plans to develop a query, one may be requested through FAC/FAST

Lastly, there is more follow up to the CBS question that came through the DirFinAid list serv last week on the CBS records coming through as Elig = N for not meeting 1 year enrollment deadline through HS graduation was conferred in June 2023.  That follow up will come next week.
