Subject: [Dssc] I need your help - send me your inaccessible documents, please!

[Sent from outside SBCTC]

Hi DSSC,

I need your help with a project I have been slogging away on over the past several months.

Background:
As you may recall, I have been pushing the Department of Enterprise Services (DES) to help SBCTC in identifying a vendor for a state-wide contract to provide accessible PDF remediation services for our colleges, especially for those documents that are complex or too time consuming for the DS office/other college offices to remediate in a timely fashion.

In my ideal world, DES will run an RFP process to identify a vendor that is known and reputable within the accessibility world, and I have shared several examples with them. In reality, DES won't run an RFP until they are certain that the current vendors contracted with the state cannot meet this request. So, I am now vetting two different companies to see what they can do.

The ask:
I need to send each company a few different inaccessible PDF documents that represent the needs or "use cases" of our students requiring accessible documents. I have already sent some simple ones as a baseline test and am now looking for juicier examples. Below are examples of what I need for that I hope you can send my way.

  * E-textbooks, research papers, or other documents that contains things like math equations, scientific symbols, graphs, images, etc.
  * Documents that are more than 10 pages long
  * Documents with unique layout and structure such as reports or posters from Marketing departments.

Please send these my way, folks, and thank you in advance for your help!
~Monica
