[Wsssc] FW: ATB Career Eligible Pathway Update

Greetings Colleagues,

We have just received new information from the U.S. Department of Education regarding upcoming changes to the Ability to Benefit (ATB) Career Eligible Pathway requirements. Over the next few weeks our Policy team at SBCTC will be working on getting additional clarification from the U.S. Department of Education in order to prepare succinct guidance for our system.

There are a couple of items we would like to highlight.

  *   If your college offered ATB prior to July 1st, 2024 there will be no immediate impact to your program

  *   If your college plans to offer ATB after July 1st, 2024 the earliest date that any information will needed from you will be January 1st, 2025

  *   All SBCTC ATB guidance will be sent to various commissions and councils, including but not limited to the Council for Basic Skills (CBS), Financial Aid Council (FAC) , Washington State Student Services Commission (WSSSC), etc.
We will publish additional SBCTC guidance in 2 weeks, in the mean time we are always available to answer any questions you may have.
