[Wsssc] 2024 Federal Rule Compliance: Gainful Employment/Financial Value Transparency and the 150% Rule.

Hello-

Many of you may be concerned about recent federal rulemaking concerning the reintroduction of Gainful Employment and Financial Value Transparency reporting, and the '150% rule' change that goes into effect on July 1. The timing of these federal expectations would be challenging in any year, but this is exacerbated with the pressures of enrollment recovery and the simplified FAFSA.
The SBCTC is working on easing the burden on colleges of compliance with these new rules and rule changes and would like to provide you with information on these rules, how they may affect colleges, and what the SBCTC is doing to provide support.
We will be hosting a webinar next Tuesday, June 18, at 8 am that will cover:

  *   Gainful Employment and Financial Value Transparency:
     *   Summary of the rules and metrics
     *   SBCTC centralized data preparation for colleges
     *   Timeline of reporting, and what colleges will need to do
     *   Implications for programs that 'fail' a metric and support for colleges
  *   150% rule change
     *   Summary of the rule change that reduces maximum program length for programs with state certifications to 100% of required hours, instead of current 150%
     *   Implications for affected programs and students
     *   Identification of affected programs
     *   Strategies and support for affected programs
We recognize this is short notice, but timing is tight for the implementation of these rules. If you cannot attend, the webinar will be recorded and the recording will be made available.
Presentations on GE/FVT have been delivered to WEC, RPC and FAC. For financial aid and institutional research staff that are already familiar with the GE/FVT rule, we will be releasing more detailed information via listservs in the next few weeks on progress and upcoming actions for GE/FVT reporting. This webinar is designed for those who have not yet attended an SBCTC presentation on the rules, although anyone is welcome to attend.
