[WSSSC] Call for data classification subcommittee representatives, deadline: 01/03/2025

Greetings WSSSC colleagues:

The systemwide Data Governance Committee (DGC) is seeking ten to 15 representatives to participate in a Data Classification subcommittee to finalize data classifications in ctcLink.

What
All data elements are required to be classified into specific privacy categories per the Washington State Office of the Chief Information Officer OCIO Data Classification Policy<https://watech.wa.gov/sites/default/files/2024-09/SEC-08-01-S%20Data%20Classification%20Standard.pdf>:

  *   Category 1 - Public Information
  *   Category 2 - Sensitive Information
  *   Category 3 - Confidential Information
  *   Category 4 - Confidential Information Requiring Special Handling
As a system, we need to revisit and further refine Washington community and technical colleges' data classifications.

Who
To ensure well-rounded and robust conversations, the DGC seeks cross-functional representation from a variety of subject matter areas across our college commissions and councils.

When
We anticipate the Data Classification Subcommittee will meet once every two weeks for 1.5 hours for approximately two to three months beginning in mid-January 2025.
