Hello to members of ARC:

I am sharing information from our CS Support team below. Points of contact are listed at the end of the message for any follow up questions you may have.

We are pleased to share that you will soon see changes in your Academic Plan Table.  With all colleges now in ctcLink, we can leverage expanded character limits to align Academic Transfer degree descriptions.  We will also take the opportunity to correct configuration, which will resolve concerns voiced by many colleges as well as our university partners.  The correct degree type of AS or AA will be associated to each degree.

  1.  First, we will correct AS that should have been AA.  Your CS Support Team will properly reflect the degree type as AA for CONCMAS, GEBBIAS, METMEAS and RENPNAS on all respective rows of the Academic Plan Table.  They will also correct the degree type of any degrees already awarded.

  1.  Then, we will take steps to ensure that data is correct going forward.  If your college has any of the below in your Academic Plan Table, we have asked your CS Support Team to apply the following description changes using a 1/1/2023 effective-date because 1) it is between terms, 2) will be applicable before Winter and Spring Term degree conferrals and 3) it avoids altering data for degrees already conferred.

*Seattle Colleges and Centralia have more than one degree registered as meeting the DTA requirement.  For their secondary degrees, the same will apply.

  1.  Finally, we will manage eliminated MRPs.  These are no longer valid and will be formally inactivated. If your college has any of the below in your Academic Plan Table, your CS Support Team will review to confirm that no students are currently in-progress and work with you if needed.  We will add two rows to these plans.  The first row will record the beginning of the teach-out period, using the effective-date and Last Admit Term indicated under Last Admit Term. The second row will change the status to inactive with the effective-date indicated under Inactive Status.

We consulted both the SBCTC Financial Aid Team and the SBCTC Reporting Team to help ensure that this clean-up plan does not have unintended impacts. We anticipate that the work above will be completed by December 30, 2022.  Once Support has completed the updates, we will ask the Data Services Team to update the Coding Manual to reflect these changes and we will notify WSAC to update the published Transfer Agreements.
