Subject: Grant Release: FY22 WorkFirst Student Support Funds

Good Afternoon!

We are VERY excited to announce that the SBCTC has received $1.1 million in funding from the Department of Social Health Services (DSHS) for WorkFirst/TANF support services!! For the first time in WorkFirst history, our system will be able to support TANF students with supplies, tools, transportation, medial, etc. with WorkFirst funds!

These funds are available to ALL colleges with WorkFirst programs. The WorkFirst Student Support Funds grant will be released on Monday, July 26th in the Online Grant Management System<https://ogms.sbctc.edu/> (OGMS). In future years these funds will be applied for within the normal WorkFirst Delivery Agreement grant application.

Please see your campus OGMS security contact for access to the FY22 application. Your OGMS security contact<https://ogms.sbctc.edu/SecurityContacts.aspx> must give you access to each grant application, each year. When you log into OGMS, be sure to navigate to the FY22 screen to find the correct application. After you have access to OGMS and the application, the OGMS user manual<https://ogms.sbctc.edu/docs/OGMS_UserManual.pdf> can answer other questions you may have about using OGMS.

Please read this email thoroughly prior to beginning your grant application.

Important Dates

7/26/21 - Grant application available
7/27/21 - Grant Application Overview Webinar
                * 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm https://us02web.zoom.us/j/85203731030
8/19/21 - Grant applications due no later than 11:55 pm*
10/1/21 - Grant start date
6/30/22 - Grant end date

*SBCTC staff are only available to assist until 4:00 pm.

Here are some import items to keep in mind as you complete your grant application:

  *   Be sure to read all instructions and requirements prior to starting your application
  *   Each college can apply for up to $33,300
  *   Funds are to support students' needs while participating in the WorkFirst Program

You must upload the following item(s) with your grant application:

  *   WF Student Support Funds Grant Assurances
