IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Special COVID rules extended to December 21, 2021

With the passage of H.R.8337 - Continuing Appropriations Act, 2021 and Other Extensions Act, the special COVID rules have been extended. Post 9/11 GI Bill students who pursue resident courses converted to an online modality solely due to COVID 19 will continue to receive the MHA rate for resident training. Students who have any questions concerning their course modality should contact their learning institution. For specific questions about VA education benefits, please call the Education Call center at 1-888-442-4551.

This bill provides continuing FY2021 appropriations to federal agencies and extends expiring programs that address health care, surface transportation, agriculture, veterans benefits, and other issues.

DIVISION E--DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS EXTENSIONS

Department of Veterans Affairs Expiring Authorities Act of 2020

This division extends authorities for various Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) programs.

TITLE II--EXTENSIONS OF AUTHORITIES RELATING TO BENEFITS

(Sec. 5202) This section extends the covered period during which certain adjustments for veterans' education benefits apply to December 21, 2021.

Extension of Student Veteran Coronavirus Response Act of 2020 Section 2 of the Student Veteran Coronavirus Response Act of 2020 (Public Law 116-140) is amended by striking December 21, 2020 and inserting December 21, 2021
