[Wsssc] WSSSC updates and work plan sign up!

Hello WSSSC-


As we continue to adapt to our mostly virtual working world, it necessitates conducting WSSSC business a bit differently. We'll continue to meet biweekly on Thursdays through the summer, however we are looking into scheduling a couple of longer meetings to address dedicated topics, including progression of the work plan. More details coming soon!


Some brief updates:

  *   WSSSC exec, IC exec and CDEO exec are meeting on July 22 to discuss shared topics and collaboration opportunities this summer and fall

  *   Exec is meeting next week with SBCTC council liaisons to discuss how to bring the council presidents and WSSSC liaisons together this summer (and perhaps throughout the year) to stay engaged and build our work together

  *   Work plan planning is underway - we're modifying our lengthy and ambitious plan with more specific, attainable and relevant goals (and fewer of them)! Hopefully we collectively shift to a feeling of excitement and personal interest in developing and achieving these goals :-)

We need your help!

  *   Work Plan Subcommittees: Please confirm which group you're on or sign up for one if you're not done so yet.<https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1WWERaxNgxc-zciVnResh2ch2qtzIjhWIfQysLoi6knQ/edit#gid=0> Just add your name to the list or put which group you’d like to join next to your name.

We're asking all WSSSC members to join one of the work plan subcommittees with the intention of keeping continuity of group membership and structuring clear outcomes for the committee and the goal(s) within the plan. The three work plans are Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM), Student Success/Guided Pathways (GP), and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI).

  *   Council Liaisons: We are seeking a liaison for the Advising and Counseling Council (ACC). Please contact me by July 24 if you’re interested in serving as the liaison.
