Subject: HEADS UP: Real College survey results

Good afternoon PIOs,

Last fall, virtually all of our colleges participated in a Hope Center #RealCollege survey about basic needs insecurity. I’m writing to let you know when the survey will be released.


  *   February 10:  The Hope Center will release its national report along with a news release (example national report<https://hope4college.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/HOPE_realcollege_National_report_digital.pdf>). We will not be involved in writing or tailoring any news releases for this national report – it’s all in the hands of the Hope Center.


  *   February 25:  The Hope Center will release its Washington state report (example California report<https://hope4college.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/RealCollege-CCCCO-Report.pdf>). SBCTC will issue a statewide news release about the findings. We hope individual colleges will wait until the SBCTC release goes out before sending their own releases. I’m not sure when the Hope Center will send you the college-level reports. I assume it might be on the same day. Do any of you know? Here’s an example of a report for Daley College in Chicago<http://www.ccc.edu/Documents/Real%20College%20survey%20results/RC2018_SchoolReports_RichardJ.DaleyCollege.pdf>.

It might make sense to start gathering up examples of what your college does to combat food and housing insecurity, in case you get media calls.
