Greetings Colleagues and Interested Partners,

A great deal of work has been happening on the new Washington College Grant (WCG) draft Washington Administrative Code (WAC).   There have been two meetings (one in person, one remote) involving the Washington State Financial Aid Work group with a great deal of expertise and input.  We are now seeking feedback from the broader community.  The link provided in this email enables you to view Draft #2 of the new WAC and to provide your comments and input.   We are using a Google document as the preferred way of receiving feedback as it allows everyone to see to comments in this phase of the edits.  If you have institutional restrictions related to using Google docs, please let us know and we can provide the document as an attachment to gather your comments. As you review, please be aware:

  *   Comments associated with my name are to draw your attention to areas where there will either be additional content added, clarifying information for you or needed from you, etc.
  *   When you make comments, it is best if you log in using your Gmail email account so that it clearly identifies you.  However, if you use the email this was sent to (your office email), it is CRITICAL that you put your name at the beginning of the comment or we cannot track who the feedback is from, seek clarifications, etc.

We ask that you make comments related to sections you would like to provide feedback on, including specific wording that you think may provide clarity.  There will also be sections in the document where you will see a comment that is informational for you.   There will be some sections still in process related to apprenticeships that may have placeholder comments to make you aware more will be added to that section as work proceeds with the apprenticeship experts.  There will also be notes letting you know when specific topics will be covered in the operational guidance provided in the program manual versus what is in WAC.

Critical deadline:    Please review the document and send us your feedback no later than noon on January 15, 2020.  This will allow us to review and revise based on additional input and prepare draft #3 to be shared with this group and adding the apprenticeship community.
