Subject: SBCTC Employment Opportunity | Deputy Executive Director for Education


The Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges (SBCTC) seeks a Deputy Executive Director for Education Services to join its leadership team. This critical role provides strategic planning, education policy, performance and accountability on behalf of the community and technical college system.
The SBCTC Education Services division:
·         Delivers policy direction and guidance in instruction, student services, K-12 transitions, eLearning and open education, policy research, and accountability issues.
·         Administers $150 million annually in targeted state, federal, contract and private foundation funds.
·         Conducts state-level research on community and technical college students, staff and resources.
·         Develops and sustains collaborative partnerships with system colleges, universities, K-12, business, labor, state agencies, national associations and philanthropic organizations to raise educational attainment and meet the education and training needs of the state’s economy.
·         Supports equity, diversity and inclusion efforts in the college system.
·         Works with college presidents, college and university administrators, state education and higher education agencies, the state Legislature, Governor’s Office and other stakeholders on higher education policy issues.
The annual salary for this position is $141,000.  Washington State has a generous benefit package including health, dental, life insurance, long-term disability, retirement, and two optional deferred compensation programs.
