ExLibris has rolled out some pretty nice updates for Primo VE recently.

The November updates are already live, and December updates will be live soon.

I've listed the most useful ones below. Descriptions can be found in the Primo VE 2021 Release Notes - Ex Libris Knowledge Center (exlibrisgroup.com)<https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Primo/Release_Notes/002Primo_VE/2021/010Primo_VE_2021_Release_Notes>.

Of particular interest are the option to Hide Offensive Subject terms (Dec) and excluding ebooks from CDI results.

Enabling the latter new feature will help reduce ebook duplication in Primo results. And, according to the release notes, the feature does *not* affect chapter level citations, so those will still appear. (Note that chapter citations can look like duplications, depending on how the record title is done.)

The hiding offensive subject terms feature is sort of a band aid. It simply "disappears" the subject headings you don't want displayed, which is handy option. But the feature doesn't do anything about replacing the headings.

That part is more up to the Library of Congress, to replace old subjects with new and authorized ones.

December 2021
-Quicklinks to Full Text for CDI Records
-Get It - Custom Order of Locations
-Option to Hide Offensive Subject Terms to Support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)

November 2021
-Show Journal Coverage Dates in Brief Results and Journal Search (NERS #6718)
-Collection Discovery - Searches Across All Collections
-Exclude eBooks from CDI Results (NERS #6702)
