[Wactclc-primo] My eBooks EBSCO are resolving to the ADMIN . Sign in page... Re: [External] EBSCO eBooks & Linking Issues

My eBooks EBSCO off campus access is resolving to the system EBSCO ADMIN sign in page and not our BBCC login. The link we use in Databases A-Z is working normally.

I see there had been issues in Feb, but not this one. Is anyone else having this issue? What's my next move?

Thank you.

As of this morning, the Ebsco ebook linking issue has been resolved by ExLibris.

So, if you had put in the temporary parser override workaround that I shared earlier this week, you should remove that override now.

I found that my Ebsco ebooks in Primo are all resolving to the Ebsco Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection instead of the eBook Collection (EBSCOhost). I have yet to encounter any actual error messages like you have, and many books actually do open correctly (although with the wrong database showing in Ebsco). But some open to a completely different article rather than the ebook. All of our 14,000 Ebsco ebooks are purchased titles, we don’t get any from subscriptions.

So many people have opened cases and they are well aware of the issue, so I’m planning to just wait to see what they figure out.

Hi All,

I have seen a lot of conversation on ALMA-L, [ALMA-L] EBSCOhost ebooks - Link resolver going to wrong database. I noticed this with our own EBSCO eBook collections yesterday (Academic and Clinical eBooks). Today, I tested this by searching a title, Emergency Imaging: A Practical Guide<https://sbctc-btcctc.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/permalink/01STATEWA_BTC/5ik1d1/alma992319516902804>, in our Clinical eBook Collection. I got an error in the HttpHandler that is requesting me to log in.

The parser is EBSCO_HOST::netlibrary for both eBook Collections. The parser parameters for both collections is url=https://search.ebscohost.com & shib=$$SHIBBOLETH & customer_id=$$CUSTOMER_ID & athens_id=$$ATHENS_ID & u_shib=$$U_SHIBBOLETH & sso=$$SSO.

Rael Elstein, from Ex Libris, sent out this email this morning that was sent out this morning.

We would like to update that we are investigating this issue with our colleagues at EBSCO.
We will provide an update as soon as possible.

Do you recommend that I open a Salesforce Case about this issue, or should I just wait.

Traci
