[Wactclc-primo] Need help troubleshooting triplicate records in Primo

Below is some quick diagnostic info from each of the 3 search results for this search, as they appear for me.

One result is derived from Alma, as activated in the community zone (via Ebook Central College Complete: Full Text), and the other two are from PCI activations.

I think Lesley is correct that in the PCI, you have two variations of the ProQuest ebook activated, via two different collections.

De-activating the older ProQuest collection will solve 1/3 of the issue.

I don't know why the Alma and Primo records as activated for ProQuest Central are not FRBRizing.
I do not pretend to have complete and full knowledge of the FRBR process in Primo.
But basically, the issue is that the author, title and title part keys for those two records are different enough that they are not being grouped into the same FRBR entity or ID in the Primo results.

De-activating the both related ProQuest collections in PCI, and leaving it activated *just* in Alma will solve the other 1/3 of the issue.

Deactivating ProQuest Central in the PCI (however its represented there) might lose some search granularity related to whatever "extra" content the PCI is providing for that collection (relative to what is provided in Alma), whether it is extra subject headings, or perhaps even full text searchability. But, if the issue with the duplicate results in Primo is bothersome enough to users, then it would be worth de-activating in PCI.

Or, perhaps de-activating only the older version of the ProQuest collection would be a happy medium.

Hi Kirsti,

I don't know if this helps, but when I tried to replicate your North example using the link below, I only saw the ebook twice.

One of the records has a link to ebrary, is that the one you're have trouble with? I'm wondering if it's an old ebrary link that was moved to Ebook Central in Alma? (see below)

My other thought is that maybe it's related to Dale's reported issue when you have something activated in both PCI and Alma, and get duplicate records?

Finally, you might want to talk to Ex Libris about your deduping settings. We had to adjust ours at Pierce College.

The first record to appear has an additional (major) problem that I've reported via SF Case #0048395--  there's information for 2 separate ebooks on the same bib. The link takes you to the ebook of Nothing but Love in God's Water, as shown on the book cover, even though the title , one of the ISBNs, and some of the subject headings are for a completely separate book.



I can tell from the record display that the first record is coming from Alma:

I'm not quite sure where the other 2 records are coming from.



This "duplicate" record shows up in all 3 Primo instances, and isn't from Alma.  No source for the record is listed:

This "triplicate" record only shows up in the North instance of Primo. Source of the record is listed as "Ebook Central Perpetual and DDA titles (ProQuest)":

Any ideas why we're getting duplicate and triplicate records?  Something to do with collections activated in PCI?
