[Wactclc-primo] Confusion about authority control in Primo

Hello again,

We are newly concerned about how authority control, particularly for
subjects, actually works, or doesn't work in Primo.

We are setting up local authority records for some local headings. In
doing so we are discovering that any kind of "See" reference or "See Also"
reference doesn't seem to do anything in Primo.

Have any of you seen any evidence that the cross-reference structure is or
is not working in Primo?

We have tested this using a number of "See" or "See Also" references. Once
example that we have used is the "See" reference of "Big Foot" for the
heading of "Sasquatch" "Sasquatch" is used on records in our Alma catalog,
and the heading is authorized when we look at the MARC records.

When we conduct a subject search in Primo for "Big Foot" we get results
based on keyword searching of articles or note fields, but we do not get
our records that have "Sasquatch" as the authorized heading. I have looked
at a number of other catalogs and I cannot find any evidence of the "See"
or "See Also" structure working.

Have any of you tested this concept? Try doing an author search for Mark
Twain and then redoing the author search for Samuel Clemens. I get very
different results with no link from Primo between the two names.
